“it’s the end of January – are your New Year’s Resolutions still on track?”

Great question!

Ah, New Year’s resolutions – that annual pledge to transform overnight into superheroes, right? Lol…

Well, this year, I’m not just on track, I’m setting a whole new trail! For starters – drumroll, please – next month marks the arrival of my new prosthesis – complete with hydraulics! Talk about a step up in the world! I’m beyond thrilled!

This isn’t just any ordinary year for me. It’s one where I’m both meeting my goals and embracing a major change that’s bound to redefine my stride.

So yes, my resolutions are more than on track – they’re leading me to uncharted, exhilarating paths!

Here’s where the real transformation begins – it’s not just about getting acquainted with my new leg. I’m determined to make this upgrade count in every possible way. This means evolving my core and leg muscles from a quiet, almost non-existent whisper to the determined stride of a pit bull (like my awesome dog, Lady).

Just like a pit bull develops its muscular build and resilience (although she was pretty much born that way), I’m cultivating my physical strength to be in perfect sync with my new limb. I’m using lots of stretch bands, a twisting disc, a glider, and planks!

As I embark on this physical journey, I’m also revamping my diet. Inspired by Netflix’s ‘You Are What You Eat,’ I see each meal as premium fuel for this grand transformation. Healthy eating is not just a choice, but an essential part of my journey. I’m in corporating more non-meat protien and a lot more veggies.

Alongside my physical training, my mind is engaging in its own marathon: I’ve committed to the Goodreads 2024 Reading Challenge with a goal of 40 books. Each book is a mental sprint, strengthening my cognitive muscle.

I’m a big behind, but so far I’ve read The Woman Next Door by Yewande Omotoso and I’m almost done with Root Magic by Eden Royce. Love them both!

In moments of quiet, you’ll find me writing – translating thoughts and adventures into words. Writing has become my mental gym, strengthening my creativity and expression.

So, here’s to a year of embracing new beginnings. This is the year I step out with my cool new leg, nourishing my body and mind, diving deep into the literary world, and expressing myself with each word I write. Who said resolutions were just a list? This year, they’re my roadmap to a vibrant, balanced life. Let’s make every moment count – with each step, bite, page, and word!
